The track, located at 2200 ft elevation is home to some of the closest door to door racing action in the area. Bradford Speedway is one of the oldest tracks in the country and has a rich and exciting history. The track was sanctioned by NASCAR during the 1958 Grand National racing season and was site to one NASCAR race that year. The race featured such early legends as Lee Petty, Buck Baker and Junior Johnson. The 150 lap event was held on June 12th. Junior Johnson, driving the '57 Ford #11, won the event with an average speed of 59.840 miles per hour. He took over the lead on lap 100 and held on to claim the whopping $550 first place winnings. Lee Petty finished second in the event. This was the one and only NASCAR sanctioned event at the track. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
