Altamont-Schenectady Fairgrounds
.5 Mile Dirt Oval. Races run in 1951 and 1955. The track closed
immediately after the 1955 race. The two races were run during the
Altamont Fair.

OK, comparison between the 1946 and 1980 USGS maps, along with the Fair
history page makes me positive that the old track is the oval around the
fair midway. The third turn comes close to the RR tracks and it is
oriented 11 and 5 o'clock.

1910 - The first Auto Racing events were held. The grand prize was $25
and second and third place won $15 and $10 respectively. This tradition
continued for over 30 years!

Now there is definitely an oval on the grounds going around the outside
of the midway.
