The track website is http://newstatelinespeedway.com/ which leads me to think there was an (old) State Line Speedway at one point. Side info on defunct NY tracks: http://www.dirttrackdigest.com/DTD/index.php?/topic/16036-defunct-ny-race-tracks/ The 1954 USGS Lakewood NY map does NOT show the track. The 1979 map DOES show the current track. So the mystery is...was this track built between 1954 and 1958. This video says it was built in 1956. I will take that as a YES, this is the track from the '58 race. Lee Petty was the only notable. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hIbTSm_8G3Y 3. Stateline Speedway (no space between State and Line) has a doc covering the first 10 years. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DXe0YgMa78c ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
