2.85 Mile Road Course. Track was well known for being a popular
motocross track. Track closed in 1998. 4 NASCAR races were run in
1958,1963,1964,and 1966. The land is now used for housing and a golf course.

Major professional racing ended after an IMSA GT race in 1971 although
smaller series like Formula Atlantic continued to run at the track
afterward. Like Riverside in California, the rising value of the land
eventually led to the track's demise.

This track had a lot of influential people living in the area around it
who wanted it gone at all costs. The track hosted a soap box derby race
in 1993 and got noise complaints about the event, including one person
who called to complain from Manhatten more than 80 miles away. Soap box
derby cars are silent.

It appears on the satellite view that the first & second turns along
with the majority of the main straight are still there. Look up Terry
Drive, Bridgehampton, NY. (If the track was run counter clockwise it
would be the last two turns, not sure which direction this track ran)

Jordan, Bridgehampton could run both directions, so it's both.

Extraordinary track. Probably the most daunting track ever built in
North America.

Today the land where this track stood is almost fully occupied by The
Bridge Golf Club. There have been some campaigns to "Bring Back
Bridgehampton" and revive this track although they haven't build up much
steam and opposition is likely. A few elements of the track, including a
bridge, were saved from demolition and worked into the golf course, such
as reusing the front stretch as an entrance road, so at least there is
something left. This track did get a digital revival though, the Trans
Am by Pirelli Esports Championship even used the online recreation of it
for a race during the 2020 Coronavirus shutdown.
