Became a dirt track for one week in 2016 for Super Dirt Week. With
Syracuse closed and Central New York extremely behind schedule, Oswego
agreed to hold the event.

Built in 1951, Oswego is one of the most iconic tracks in the world for
modified racing. It is the de facto home track for Supermodified racing
and home of the Budweiser Oswego International Classic; their biggest
race. Oswego has always been a paved track but started switching over to
dirt briefly each year as it took over hosting of the Super DIRT Week
Big-Block Modified Championship in 2016 after the New York State
Fairgrounds "Moody Mile" was demolished; the race has stayed at the
short track in the years since.

A USAC Sprint Car race here at Oswego in 1967 uniquely proved to be the
one and only time twin brothers Mario Andretti and Aldo Andretti ever
raced head to head. Mario won the race while Aldo salvaged 10th place
despite a brake failure. Aldo was working his way up the USAC ranks in
the late 1960s until a 1969 sprint car crash ended his racing career.
