The urban Iowa track was a scenic one downtown and rather uniquely it included two bridge crossings of the Des Moines River (only other street course I can think of with that would be the IMSA one they used to do in Columbus, Ohio). Trans-Am ran the Des Moines circuit from 1989 through 1994. The final 1994 event was probably hindered by the fact that the infamous Midwest floods of 1993 washed out the main Trans-Am race the prior year, hurting interest for following races. Trans-Am had a habit of doing street races in rather unusual cities without a higher series supporting them. Other locations they ran included Grand Rapids, Michigan, Reno, Nevada, Niagara Falls, New York and a couple different ones in the Dallas, Texas area including one at Addison Airport. 2.
