1/3 Mile Paved Oval located in Tampa, Florida. Only NASCAR race in 1963
won by Richard Petty.Track closed in 1978, reopened in 1981 and closed
for a final time in 1984. This track was one of the home tracks to
current NASCAR star David Reutiman.

This track has been torn down. The property where it once stood is now
the Big Top Flea Market.

Yep, there it is. NE corner of E#. Fowler and Jefferson.

You can see it's layout on the Thonotosassa map from the USGS Store free
download website, usgs.gov. Map from 1974 (I think)

The Florida Governor's Cup race originated here in 1965, fittingly with
Floridian short tracker Wayne Reutimann winning it. With the exception
of 1979 it was then held here annually until 1983 before this track's
closure.

Wayne Reutimann? Any relation to fellow Floridians Emil "Buzzie"
Reutimann & David Reutimann?

Wayne is Buzzie's brother and David's uncle. He was a really talented
short tracker, he won the Governor's Cup twice, but never raced in a
series or event this site tracks.
