The 3/8 mile oval has operated variously as Kingsport International Speedway, Raceland Kingsport, Kingsport Motor Speedway, New Kingsport Speedway, Tri-Cities Speedway, MARCA Motorsports Community and Galaxy Kingsport Speedway. The 1/5 mile oval was built in 1994 and operated until 2000. It has operated under the names Kingsport Mini-Way, Galaxy Kingsport Mini-Way and MARCA Motorsports Community. The Track Re-Opened in 2009, and ran 1 race, in replacement of a rained out event at Jacksonville, North Carolinaâ??s Coastal Plains Speedway. Brandon McReynolds, the son of former NASCAR crew chief and current television commentator Larry McReynolds, basically put on a clinic. He had what can only be described as a perfect day. He was fastest in pre-race practice, qualified on the pole, led the most laps, and won the race. 2. Would bring a tonof already in town NASCAR fans from Bristol in to the track, enough seats and parking could be a problem though. 5. Looks like the main track is really set down in a bowl...must be a cool place to watch a race. 6. No 1/5 race is up for the mini version, so I wonder if there is one. 8. thog posted: 09.14.2020 - 10:59 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) @8 - Islip Speedway is 1/5ths of a mile ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
