The track opened in 1982 as a dirt track, and was paved in the mid-1980s. The track is under the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series banner with Super Late Model's, SuperTruck's, Junkyard Dog's, Outlaw Late Model's, Mini Stock's, INEX RaceCeiver/zMax Legend's Cars and INEX Bandolero Car's. Lanier Speedway is located just north of the Road Atlanta motor racing circuit on the opposite or northern side of the Winder Highway. The Speedway held 5 races for the NASCAR Busch Series between 1988 and 1992. 2. Remains to be seen whether it will happen or not. 3. Chris posted: 04.17.2012 - 6:56 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) This is a different Chris from the one who posted above. The track is listed at .375 miles but why is it that 2 of the 9 events shown here are different sizes? In 2005, it is listed as .400 miles for the ARCA race. In 2008 for the Whelen Southern Modified Tour race is it shown as .370 miles. It would make sense perhaps if it was .375 back when the Busch Series ran it from 1988 - 1992 and then was lengthened to .400 miles in 2005, but how does it go from .400 miles to .370 miles in 2008 back to .375 a year later in 2009? 4. All of the track's infield structures and walls have been demolished and the track has been redone with a complete paving job of the entire infield and the oval area to create a large open area that is planned to be used for drifting competitions. 6. For several year's this track's tagline was "Where Georgia Does NASCAR." The track is located literally right across the street from the world famous Road Atlanta road course, it is positioned behind the road course's frontstretch. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
