The facility is utilized for a wide variety of events, including professional and amateur sports car and motorcycle races, racing and driving schools, corporate programs and testing for motorsports teams. The track has 12 turns, including the famous "esses" between turns three and five; and Turn 12, a downhill, diving turn. The track is owned by Panoz Motorsports, and is the home to the Petit Le Mans, as well as AMA motorcycle racing, and smaller events throughout the year. 2. The Busch series raced at Road Atlanta in 1986 and 1987 then moved over to Lanier for a few years. The oval is located behind the road course's front stretch. 7. Ferrari" were all filmed at this track. Toyota also filmed a commercial for the 2019 Toyota Supra here, promoting the model's return to showrooms after a 17-year absence. 8. RaceFanX posted: 04.23.2020 - 9:34 am Rate this comment: (1) (0) Track Location: Braselton, GA Road Atlanta is actually owned by NASCAR itself right now (specifically through its ownership of IMSA and all Don Panoz' old ALMS assets like this track). NASCAR has raced here but it has also almost always been seen as a sports car track. The NASCAR ownership likely deters IndyCar from seeking a race here but I've also heard that the track's high speed but tight in many places nature is seen as a bit more a risk than IndyCar would like. NASCAR likely doesn't bring the higher level series here because it would probably eat into the gate at Atlanta Motor Speedway (which is about an hour and a half away but both both tracks are seen as being in the Atlanta metropolitan area). The first road course race ever for the NASCAR Busch/Xfinity Series took place here in 1986. 10. IndyCar added Richmond to their schedule. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
