A very fast track, turns banked at 50 degrees. September 17, 1926, the
track was destroyed by the great Miami hurricane of 1926. Lumber
littered the area, once the wood was recovered it helped with the
reconstruction of the city.

At the time this track was in operation it was perceived to be the
fastest in the world. It's a shame the track was so short-lived because
it had a good pedigree, Indianapolis Motor Speedway co-founder Carl
Fisher built the track as part of some development work he was doing in
Miami at the time and hired Ray Harroun to be its general manager.
