Built in 1964 and paved in 1967, the track hosts the Florida Association of Stock Car Automobile Racing (FASCAR), the sanctioning body owning both this track and Orlando Speedworld. New Smyrna Speedway is used by NASCAR race teams for testing. Track length: 0.48 miles. 2. Just became NASCAR sanctioned January 2013 the NASCAR Whelen All American Series races here and New Smyrna. The track is .375 mile long high banked asphalt oval. The track has been famous for its yearly event called Crash-o-rama and has been featured on "Only in America" and a short series on Spike. Other events are figure 8 races, bus races, drifting events, modified races, midget and sprint races and etc. 4. Super late models, pro late models, modifieds, and many more types of race cars race every night for points. It attracts the top drivers on both sides of the border. 5. Premiere NASCAR teams test here quite often trying to dial in their short track cars and trucks. But I would be willing to bet once the backstretch grandstands are removed from daytona the battle at the beach will be moved here. 7. kellen posted: 02.28.2014 - 1:22 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Track is very similar to the old Indianapolis Raceway Park at least i think so. 8.
