One of three speedways in the Daytona Beach area, and probably the
least-known of the three (the other two being Daytona International
Speedway, of course, and Volusia County Speedway, which in the past
hosted Busch Series events).

Built in 1964 and paved in 1967, the track hosts the Florida Association
of Stock Car Automobile Racing (FASCAR), the sanctioning body owning
both this track and Orlando Speedworld. New Smyrna Speedway is used by
NASCAR race teams for testing.

Track length: 0.48 miles.

Starting in 2013 New Smyrna Speedway is a NASCAR sanctioned track. Same
goes for Orlando Speedworld.

Here's more info on New Smyrna speedways sister track Orlando Speed
world Oval located in Bithlo, Florida. Just became NASCAR sanctioned
January 2013 the NASCAR Whelen All American Series races here and New
Smyrna. The track is .375 mile long high banked asphalt oval. The track
has been famous for its yearly event called Crash-o-rama and has been
featured on "Only in America" and a short series on Spike. Other events
are figure 8 races, bus races, drifting events, modified races, midget
and sprint races and etc.

The track is also famous for hosting the "World Series of Asphalt," an
event that takes place for about 8 nights during Daytona Speedweeks.
Super late models, pro late models, modifieds, and many more types of
race cars race every night for points. It attracts the top drivers on
both sides of the border.

this track should have a truck race or an arca race

It would be cool to see an arca race or a truck race here but I doubt it
will happen being 15 miles from Daytona. Premiere NASCAR teams test here
quite often trying to dial in their short track cars and trucks. But I
would be willing to bet once the backstretch grandstands are removed
from daytona the battle at the beach will be moved here.

Track is very similar to the old Indianapolis Raceway Park at least i
think so.

Epic finish to the first ever KNPSE race here. Hope to see this track
more often in the future

This track has been the home of the Florida Governor's Cup race every
year since 1988.
