Now known as "Showtime Speedway" in 2015, this is one of Florida's most
time-honored and strongest race tracks.

a .333 race track i dont know why others show it as .5 mile and higher
but far as I can remember the track has always been 1/3 of a mile.

I live about 10 minutes from the track so can easily get the history of
its configuration. I attended races there from the late 90's till its
closure and then when they reopened 2 years ago and during that time the
track was .333 so I will have to find out if it had another
configuration but I'm not sure.

the figure 8 might be .5 mile but not the main track that still stands
today.

ok after some research the track was when it was built in 1960 a .25
mile track and from everything I can find remained a 1/4 mile track when
it closed in 2004, reopening in 2012 under the name of Showtime Speedway
named after the person who won the lease rights from the state Robert
Yoho who was known as Showtime. the track still is under the .25
configuration.

I have programs that state the track was a .333 mile track so as i said
before somewhere the track must of been reconfigured, but it has never
been a .5 mile track.

It is a 1/4 mile track ,always has been,the only 1/3 mile track I know
of in Florida is the dirt track south of Tampa,East Bay raceway.Desoto
speedway is 3/8 mile.Now many tracks like to measure the preferred line
rather then the inside which bloats the distance,the inside is the
correct distance.I have raced at Sunshine speedway in the past ,it is
1/4 mile for sure.
