The track was sold to commercial developers in 1937, but the track held
events until 1958, when the builds were razed.

Arlington Downs, as the name implies, was mainly a horse racing track.
It was built in 1929. Racing began before it was legal to bet on them in
Texas with arrests related to bets at this track helping change
legislation to allow parimutuel betting in 1933. That change however was
short lived as the state rescinded the legalization after the track's
1937 season, prompting the sale to developers.
