RACER101 posted: 03.12.2010 - 6:55 pm Rate this comment: (2) (1) I'm tired of people complaining about Kansas Speedway it's a great track and it's not excactly like Chicagoland people just don't know what their talking about the groove is so wide that it produces good four wide racing and it's a challenge to drivers people are compaining because it might get a second date which it deserves so it's a great racetrack and if your in Kansas go to Heartland Park Topeka too. 3. ClintBowyer33 posted: 03.14.2010 - 11:55 am Rate this comment: (1) (1) Kansas Speedway is just a great race track you know it gets that midwestern weathering to it and the groove really opens up and the track is different and probably the most unique of all the 1.5 tracks it has it's own personality so it's an amazing place to see Nascar and the IRL and all teams love going to race their it's alot of fun and people complain because it's getting a second date that's great people should be happy for Kansas most tracks have 2 dates already and Kansas Speedway is growing year after year I agree with you racer101 im tired of people complainig about Kansas Speedway to.I to love Heartland Park Topeka the premiere multipurpose motor racing facility! 4. The speedway, which is used by the NASCAR Sprint Cup series and the Indy Racing League, is a 1.5 miles (2.4 km) tri-oval with 15-degree banking in the turns, and is considered in some areas to be the sister track to Chicagoland Speedway, which was built around the same time and also owned by ISC. The track held its first race on June 2, 2001, when the Winston West series contested the Kansas 100. The top-level NASCAR Sprint Cup series holds the annual Camping World RV 400 at the track. In 2004, Joe Nemechek became the first driver to complete the double at Kansas Speedway by winning both the Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series races in one weekend. 5. bduddy posted: 04.29.2010 - 3:28 pm Rate this comment: (5) (1) Do all of you work for them or something? This is a truly pointless track and a transparent market grab. Has absolutely nothing that ten other tracks don't already have... 6. RACE34 posted: 05.03.2010 - 12:22 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Bduddy you dont know what your talking about do you all tracks are built for a purpose think all the people out here in Kansas like seeing races here and by the way who cares if it's similar to other tracks I dont get why people care so much you know we love our racetrack by the way I dont work for them but stop complaining because there are race fans on all parts of the country not just the south were your probably from! 7. bduddy posted: 05.11.2010 - 5:42 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) I'm actually from Northern California, but thanks for the sentiment. I think it's great that people in Kansas have somewhere close by that they can see races, but it didn't have to be on yet another cookie-cutter... 8. RACE34 posted: 05.13.2010 - 2:30 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Hi bduddy Im sorry and im not being sarcastic either im also tired of cookie cutter tracks but what can you do it was the ISC decision to build that type of track. People say California where you live is boring but I say if it is at least at track were cars race side by side it's nice and its racing. Again im sorry about the comment I made. 9. I know I'm saying that because in favor of ending his career winning every track, including NWS, and Rockingham. 12. RACE34 posted: 07.26.2013 - 3:41 am Rate this comment: (0) (1) To the fake Brian France, I never said this track was the greatest track ever I just think the COT hurt intermediate track racing so much that it gave those tracks a bad reputation. If NASCAR would just wake up and figure out ways to produce closer racing all the intermediate tracks would be better liked. 19. It always seems like these races have tons of crashes the last couple years. 22. RaceFanX posted: 05.07.2016 - 6:57 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) This track has its own casino, the Hollywood Casino. The casino opened in 2012 and is visible behind the backstretch during races. 23. However, the crashes that happen are very violent. -Dale Jarrett 2001 (Has no memory of the race, because of head injuries sustained) -Sterling Marlin (Championship contender, until he crashed and suffered a cracked vertebra -Dale Earnhardt Jr 2012 Tire test (Suffered a concussion, that was re-aggravated 2 months later at Talladega) -Multiple 2012 Fall tire failures -Justin Allgaier and David Gilliland 2014 (Huge collision at the start/finish line) -Clint Bowyer 2015 (Head-on into the outside wall off turn 2) -Almirola/Logano/Patrick 2017 (Patrick and Logano slammed the wall at near max speed, with Almirola slamming into them afterwards, suffering a compression fracture in his back) -Erik Jones Big One (Jones rode the wall on his door after getting turned, off turn 2, triggering the big one) -William Byron 2018 (Head-on into the outside wall off turn 4) -Matt DiBenedetto 2020 (Big hit into the outside wall on the backstraightaway) -Ryan Preece 2020 (Went airborne and went on his side, seemingly accelerating when he hit the wall) Quite the track. It's got it's own fierce character 31. DaveDavidson posted: 08.06.2020 - 10:17 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) 3 truck races in 2020... ok this is officially a crazy year! 32. All voters paid out a dollar, and all profits went to the Farm Rescue non-profit. The winner was, get this: "Buschy McBusch Race 400" Yes, Busch has accepted this. 34. Seibaru posted: 03.23.2021 - 2:06 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) @34 They let voters suggest whatever as long as it was appropriate and incorporated Busch in some way. Buschy McBusch Race 400 was one of the four finalists that they let voters then pick from, and the internet liked it the most; the other choices were Busch: Nectar Of The Cobs 400, The Busch Latté 400, and Busch: For The Farmers 400. Again, voting cost a dollar and all profits went to the Farm Rescue charity. I cannot wait to hear the announcers say "Welcome to the Buschy McBusch Race 400!". ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
