This purpose-built road course was built in 2011. It is located about 20
minutes outside New Orleans. The track hosted a few Road to Indy events
in its early years before hosting its first IndyCar race in April 2015.

Also hosted some IMSA GT3, MX-5 Cup and Prototype Lites races. Used for
testing by some IMSA teams as well.

Unfortunately, IndyCar will not be returning to NOLA in 2016. I hate it
because I thought the track produced entertaining racing, despite the
wet weather issues, particularly on the restarts.

However, the bad weather and poor promotion led to attendance estimates
as low as 10,000. Two lawsuits for unpaid debts against the track also
didn't help matters.

The good news is that there is optimism a deal can be put together for
the future, perhaps for a return in 2017.
