Champ Car's second Houston venue - this time it took place within a
parking lot near Reliant Stadium.

Track runs near both Reliant Stadium, the home of the NFL's Houston
Texans, and the world-famous Houston Astrodome which is currently vacant
while the city weighs its options.

The 2014 races here failed with spectators due to being held in Houston
in June amidst the Texan city's scorching hot summers. The 2013 races
were held in October amid better conditions but with IndyCar shortening
the schedule to end for year in August and no viable option for moving
the Houston race to the spring for 2015 due to NRG Stadium hosting part
of the NCAA Men's Basketball tournament and IndyCar being focused on a
March season opener in Brazil (that ultimately fell apart) no deal could
be arranged for future races or the time necessary to set up the track.

With Houston off the schedule for 2015 there were rumors of reviving
this one in 2016 or replacing this track with a new Houston round on the
runways of Ellington Airport (home of the Wings Over Houston Air Show).
Neither came to pass.
