The original site of Champ Car's attempt at a Houston race.

The first configuration was a street circuit that consisted of several
90-degree corners.

Revived circuit for the 2013 Indycar season, being one of the 3 double
headers.

An all-new street circuit, seeing as the old one consisted of loads of
90 degree turns and looked like one dull circuit to drive around, but
this new one looks nice and flowing, in street circuit terms...

The circuit IndyCar will use this weekend is the Reliant Park venue used
by Champ Car in 2006 & 2007. The CART races in Houston were in the
downtown streets; totally different place.

The area of Houston where these races were held has seen some radical
transformations in the years since. In 2014, when it was accurately
looking likely IndyCar would be discontinuing its races on a temporary
track in the NRG Stadium parking lot, a local newspaper said it was
highly unlikely this track could be revived if IndyCar had wanted to
pursue that option because of all the changes.
