First set up for the World Touring Car Championship in 2009, it was the
first track in Morocco to host an international race since the F1 Grand
Prix in 1958.

In 2010 this track became the only street circuit and the only track
outside Europe to host the 2009-2012 revival of Formula Two.

Marrakesh was initially left off the 2019-20 Formula E calandar. The
race got its spot back when the Hong Kong ePrix was cancelled in October
2019 due to the onoing protests in the city at the time.

As suggested by The Race last month, Formula E is set to lose its
planned Marrakesh race which is scheduled for May 22.

Deputy CEO and co-founder of Formula E Alberto Longo told The Race that
Marrakesh ?at the moment is not looking good?.

This is because Morocco is planning to tighten restrictions in the
country from next Tuesday onwards when the holy month of Ramadan begins.
