This waterfront street course got its start as a replacement for the
Sydney Homebush course. It races through the city's Newcastle Beach and
Nobbys Beach Reserve areas.

This track was be used again during the 2020 Supercars season but the
race had to be cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Newcastle is set to be dropped off the schedule for good as part of a
revised 2021 calendar in which the Adelaide Street Circuit is expected
to take over as the season finale.

Newcastle will return in 2022 as the Supercars season-opener, the
championship has announced.
