First set up for the World Touring Car Championship in 2009, it was the
first track in Morocco to host an international race since the F1 Grand
Prix in 1958.

In 2010 this track became the only street circuit and the only track
outside Europe to host the 2009-2012 revival of Formula Two.

The 1 mile at the Alameda County Fairgrounds in Pleasanton, California
was once under consideration for pavement and modification to make it
what would have been, essentially, a spectacularly beautiful West Coast
version of the Milwaukee Mile. This had to have been around the
1973-1974 timeframe when the land around there was wide open.

Talks came and went quickly, but I remember seeing a small scale mock-up
of the plan.

the track is currently the Pleasanton Fairgrounds Racetrack (where we
have horse racing) ?
