A street course set up around the outside of the "Bird's Nest,"
Beijing's famous Olympic stadium from the 2008 Summer games.

Site of the first-ever Formula E electric car race in 2014. This track
was set up specifically for that event.

This track also passes by the Water Cube, the Olympics' famous swimming
facility which has since been converted into a water park.

The circuit almost exclusively uses chicanes or 90 degree (roughly)
turns. Certain sections of this track are wide but others are really thin.

Length of the track is wrong, should be 3.44 km.

Where are you seeing that? The race distance of 86.3 km over 25 laps
means that the track is 3.4 km.

Honestly, it's not a great track. The 90-degree turns with chicanes
interrupting the flow of each lap really hurt the first race. Hopefully
the track can be modified a bit to produce some better racing.

In the words of Jean-Eric Verge, the track is "really nothing special."

Although the nature of Formula E has made for a couple of enjoyable
races there so far. It would be nice to see a couple of the corners
widened (if possible), but it is the site of the first ever FE race, so
will always have a special place in motorsport history...

This track won't return for Formula E's third season in 2016-17 with it
seemingly being replaced as the season opener by a new track in Hong
Kong. Bummer.
