Street circuit based in and around the Olympic Village that was used for
2000 Sydney Olympics.

First used in 2009, and has hosted the season finale since then.

Designed by V8 legend Mark Skaife. The track was first rumoured to be on
the V8 schedule as early as 2001 but for various reasons never
eventuated each time. The track finally got the green light to be used
in 2009.

It was announced today that the 2016 V8 Supercar visit to this track
will be the last. Use of this street circuit will be discontinued with
the V8 series looking at its options to replace it, possibly with
another street course in Gosford, NSW.

The Supercars will replace this track with a new street circuit season
finale in Newcastle, New South Wales in 2017.

Part of the reason use of this track was discontinued was due to an
renovation project at ANZ Stadium, the Olympic Stadium from the 2000
Summer Games, that would have blocked off one area used by the track.
The initial plan was to completely demolish and rebuild stadium but
later it was decided to just renovate the existing one.
