Noise restrictions mean the track usually only hosts local racing events. 2. The track opened in 1961 and is a real classic. It hosted two Australian Grand Prix and some big names have raced at the track, including Jim Clark, who won a Tasman Series race there in 1967. Although it will never again host top-level motorsport, thankfully the track was revived and continues to see historic events, sprints and club level racing throughout the year. 3. Will try and bring back a video or two. Wish me well! Leo 6. Archie posted: 03.16.2017 - 3:58 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Good luck and be safe! 7. I got some untimed laps in during open practice, car felt great, but started to develop a misfire. Traced that to a failed altenator, switched that out Saturday morning to try and make the grid for qualifying, but something else is off with the motor so I decided to leave it at that rather than risk more serious damage. A bit disappointing and definitely not what I had in mind, but I'm still happy because there are many other ways for it to go wrong that are much, much worse than this! We'll be back soon enough :) Enjoy a few onboard laps from the great Lakeside circuit. Note the high speed turns and limited run off! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xeqrXV4Kb58 Cheers 8.
