It was used from 1946 through 1966. The property has been redeveloped in the years since. 2. As for the Lowood circuit, a family member of mine recently bought a farm that backs onto what was once the airstrip / front straight. There is nothing obvious to suggest there was once a racetrack there, but the remains of the runway are still there at the back of the property, cracked, broken and overrun with grass and weeds, but it's still there and still remains as a piece of history for those who are keen enough to look for it. 4. It's amazing to see all of these stats coming together and your work paying off, especially for a series like ATCC where it is quite hard to find much for it online. That's amazing you have a relative who owns part of where this airport/track once was. 5. You can still trace the outline of the track from satellite view on Google maps, which is rather cool. 6. simonracer posted: 12.31.2015 - 9:38 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) So is the plan to have ATCC results going back to 1960? If so, that would be pretty cool. 7. The airstrip and main straight of the circuit was located on what is now Daisy Road, with cars heading South East towards Forest Hill-Fernvale road, turning right and following what I presume might have been part of the taxiway / access road network of the airstrip. The racing surface continued along the same path as the road now does, before turning right again and heading north. You can still see evidence of this part of the track in the ground, though it doesn't follow any existing roads. There is then a left turn, around where some houses and buildings currently stand, then the circuit quickly makes another right, joining onto Irwin Road and heading north again, eventually reaching the other end of the airstrip where the lap begins again. If you look closely you can see how wide the tarmac once was and in person, you can still see remains of the surface underneath the scrub that is pushing through. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
