There an 11-turn road course and a 1.5-mile tri-oval superspeedway designed to be a clone of the USA's Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The road course is not a roval, the tracks do not overlap minus a brief crossing on the backstrech of the oval. The finish line for the road course is within the infield of the oval. The road course hosted the South African round of the MotoGP championship from 1999 to 2004. The oval hosted the 2010 Free State 500, the first superspeedway race anywhere in Africa. Despite the name it is a permanent circuit, there are no local roads worked into the track. 2. Whilst some of the old track remains to the north & south of the oval, none of its layout was incorporated into Phakisa Freeway. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
