Canadianfan posted: 02.04.2020 - 5:35 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) @4 It won't be postponed it will just be cancelled the schedule is so packed and most people are probably not aware about the summer break in August is actually mandatory by FIA rules. Also most people are probably not aware but teams send some of their stuff weeks in advance as does the FIA. There's not even time really to try schedule another race it's just not going to happen. There was a rumour about Russia and China swapping dates but it's very unlikely. 6. 34McDowellFan posted: 02.05.2020 - 3:22 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Will not host an F1 Race in 2020. 2020 will only be 21 races, the record 22 race schedule will have to wait for 2021, or maybe even later if a race gets dropped after 2020. 7. F1 was still up in the air. 8. That is a lot of travel, especially at a time where spare parts will be low. I can see why teams rejected it. I know they've done a triple header before, but that was with just European races and I believe the last one was Silverstone. Most teams shops were right there. 10. In view of the continued spread of novel coronavirus and after ongoing discussions with the CAMF and Shanghai Administration of Sports, the Chinese Grand Prix Promoter, Juss Sports Group, has officially requested that the 2020 FIA Formula 1 Chinese Grand Prix be postponed. The FIA, together with the F1, have jointly decided to accept this official request from the promoter and postpone the 2020 FIA Formula 1 Chinese Grand Prix, originally scheduled for 19 April As a result of continued health concerns and with the @WHO declaring the coronavirus as a global health emergency, the FIA and @F1 Formula 1 have taken these measures in order to ensure the health and safety of the travelling staff, championship participants and fans. The FIA and @F1 continue to work closely with the teams, promoter, CAMF and local authorities to monitor the situation. All parties will take the appropriate amount of time to study the viability of potential alternative dates later in the year should the situation improve. The Chinese Grand Prix has long been an important part of the F1 calendar with many passionate fans. The FIA F1 community looks forward to racing in China as soon as possible and wishes everyone in the country the best during this difficult time. The global situation regarding this virus will continue to be monitored by the FIA with regard to other motor sport events. Honestly I thought they already postponed it but I guess now it's official. As I stated before I think the FIA is in denial and this race is not going to run period. Now one has to wonder about Vietnam so far there have been 15 cases of coronavirus in Vietnam no deaths as of yet though. 11. Formula E was already cancelled, while they were still speculation of the F1 race until today. 12. Many countries are putting travel restrictions on people traveling through Italy. This will heavily affect Formula One as F1 teams, Ferrari and Alpha Tauri are based there along with tire supplier Pirelli. Australia might still be good to go, but Vietnam and Bahrain are placing heavy travel restrictions. According to Ross Brawn, should any team be prevented from competing due to Coronavirus, then the race will either run as a non-championship event or be outright cancelled. 13.
