Track is located in Surfers Paradise, Australia (a suburb of Gold Coast
City, Queensland)

When CART decided to race internationally they wanted a street race in
Australia and choose Surfers Paradise over Brisbane. The choice has been
a good one as Surfers Paradise has held races every year since 1991 with
IndyCar, Indy Racing League, V8 Supercars, and even Aussie NASCAR races
held on the course.

Would be safe to call this the "Monte Carlo of Australia?" This track is
quite the iconic, coastal street circuit.

Interesting thought, RFX, although I feel like Surfers Paradise might
have more in common with Long Beach than Monaco (going by what I've seen
on TV).

Sitting in a grandstand at the beachfront chicane, there was often a
cool sea breeze blowing in from the beach, with the shoreline being no
more than 100m from the track.

The short-lived Aussie NASCAR series ran here, one of the few tracks
outside Calder Park where they did.

In 2009 the government of Queensland celebrated the state's 150th
anniversary with a list dubbed the "Q150 Icons" featuring 150 icons of
its life, culture, and history. The success of the Gold Coast IndyCar
Grand Prix landed it a spot among the 15 events and festivals on the
list. The race was one of two motorsports-related honorees in the Q150
list as Brisbane's own #17 Dick Johnson also made the list as a sporting
icon.

Please give this track a date on the cup schedule in 2021. How cool
would this be to go to Surfers Paradise in Australia. They could do a
early season event like Indy cart did in the early 90's
