This track, today known as Castrol Raceway, opened in 1991 and includes
a drag strip, and a clay oval. The drag strip is IHRA sanctioned while
the World of Outlaws came north of the border to run the oval annually
from 2007 to 2015.

This track largely replaced the former Edmonton International Speeday,
which also had a road course, drag strip, and short track. The former
track hosted a number of high level events (including Can-Am, Trans-Am,
and Formula 5000) after opening in 1966 but closed in 1982 and was torn
down to allow its property to be redeveloped for housing.
