F1 never visited here once Switzerland banned motor racing due to the Le Mans disaster of 1955. 2. An attempt to lift the ban took place in 2007 and gained some momentum only to die thanks to Swiss politics and environmental concerns in 2009. 3. The circuit facilities are long gone, I had read the track fell victim to urban development but I've seen maps and the area looks quite wooded to me. 4. The change paved the way for a Formula E race to be held on a Zurich street circuit in 2018. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
