This was a fast and dangerous true road course through the forest
surrounding the town of Bremgarten bei Bern, Switzerland.

F1 never visited here once Switzerland banned motor racing due to the Le
Mans disaster of 1955.

Technically time attack car races, such as hill climbs, are still legal
but yeah circuit racing was ban after the Le Mans disaster and remains
so to this very day.

An attempt to lift the ban took place in 2007 and gained some momentum
only to die thanks to Swiss politics and environmental concerns in 2009.

The layout of the track still exists but only as regular roads. The
circuit facilities are long gone, I had read the track fell victim to
urban development but I've seen maps and the area looks quite wooded to me.

Switzerland eventually did slightly lift its ban on circuit racing,
adding a provision to the law in 2015 that lifts the ban BUT only for
more environmentally-friendly racing with electric cars. The change
paved the way for a Formula E race to be held on a Zurich street circuit
in 2018.
