RaceFanX posted: 04.24.2016 - 10:43 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Formula E brought the long-time goal of a street course race in Paris to fruition with this street course set up within sight of the Eiffel Tower. The course was set up around Les Invalides, a collection of French military museums and memorials that includes the tomb of France's former emperor Napoleon Bonaparte. The City of Paris focused on sustainability when they built this temporary circuit, all of the materials to set up the course were brought in via the river Seine so they wouldn't need to use trucks. The course layout required the Formula E cars to race over a section of road paved with centuries-old cobblestones so the city carefully put down a layer of protection over the historic pavement before putting down a temporary asphalt surface on top of it. The asphalt was removed after the race and recycled. 2.
