Jerez, located deep within the the Sherry-producing region of Spain,
hosted the Spanish Grand Prix from 1986-90, and the European Grand Prix
in 1994 and 1997.

It has not hosted any F1 events since then due to an incident on the
podium where Jerez mayor presented a trophy that was intended to be
presented by a Mercedes-Benz dignitary. It is still used extensively by
F1 teams for winter testing.
