Provided only 1 good GP, but 1 two time winner (Vettel), who should really have been 3 times winner if not for a car failure whilst dominating the 2012 edition. 3. Screw Las Vegas that place was interesting enough but Valencia was so bad. No-one will be sad to see the end of this "track". 4. There were plans for this track to alternate the Spanish Grand Prix with Catalunya but it fell through. Today there are still ghostly remainders of this track in place even though the circuit is gone. The ghostly painted marks on the asphalt that were made for the track remain in place today as does some of the duct tape the teams put down to mark their pit stalls. This track is raced around the harbor built in Valencia for the city to host the 2007 America's Cup yacht races. Spain has never won the America's Cup, or even made the finals, but the 2003 races were won by a Swiss team. Since Switzerland is landlocked it held a competitive process to decide who would host the next races and Valencia won. The Swiss team from the Societe Nautique de Geneve won again in 2007 so the harbor hosted the races again in 2010 with an American team from the Golden Gate Yacht Club winning and relocating the races to San Francisco for 2013. 5. Today that bridge remains in place but it has been opened and left that way permanently. 6. The swing bridge section was also asphalted shut during the F1 races here. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
