For political reasons Donington was set to replace Silverstone as the site of the British Grand Prix in 2010 but the deal later fell apart but not before attempts to bring the track up to F1 standards left it in an unusable state when things came undone. Thankfully it appears things are getting back on track. The track's grounds are also home to the Donington Grand Prix Museum Exhibition, the largest collection of F1 cars in the world including a large collection of McLarens, a complete collection of Vanwalls and the Jordan 191 that Michael Schumacher made his F1 debut in. 2. Still most of the teams are based at the track and the series uses it for preseason testing. The Donington Grand Prix Museum Exhibition closed permanently in November 2018. Several of the cars from the collection were sold off before then to raise money for the track to work out of its early 2010s financial issues. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
