It was first used in 2012 as NASCAR Euro's first oval race. It was the series' only oval until 2015, when a half-mile American-style short track in the Netherlands known as Venray joined the schedule. The track was not used in 2017, but will return this year. Venray was dropped for this season, so Tours will again be the only oval. Despite being a temporary parking lot oval, the track is banked to nine degrees in the corners, as the track itself runs along a set of berms. It also has a drainage system, allowing for rain racing, which is exactly what happened in 2014 when Elite 1 ran their second race of the weekend in a light downpour. The track's only used one weekend a year, hosting NASCAR Euro races alongside French drifting and other car-related spectacles. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
